Muhammed Kiggundu serves as the Institute Administrator at the Institute of Gender and Development Studies. In this role, he leads administrative coordination, institutional partnerships, and program support while providing executive assistance to the Director. He brings extensive experience in higher education administration and international engagement, having previously worked with Makerere University’s International Relations Office and the Global Centre on Adaptation in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Additionally, he serves as the Administrator for the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA) Centre of Excellence on Notions of Identities in Africa hosted at Makerere University.

Muhammed holds a Master’s degree in Adult and Community Education, with a research focus on climate change education and community-based learning. His academic and professional interests include inclusive development, community empowerment, and the integration of indigenous knowledge systems into education and policy.

In his current role, he contributes to strengthening institutional effectiveness, supporting interdisciplinary research, and advancing strategic collaborations that promote gender equality and sustainable development in both regional and global contexts.
